| Examination Text | Grace James aged 31 years in the workhouse saith she never was bound apprentice married kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant, that her father All Saints James [sic] was a Staymaker and lived in and rented an house in Red Lyon Court 17 years and paid 12 pounds per ann. Rent for the same and to the poor and other Parish taxes, that he quitted the said house about six years ago and died about six months afterwards, and that he never kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. or paid any parish taxes after he quitted the same, and that her mother died 18 years ago and knows not where her said father and mother were married.
