Examination TextElizabeth Beenham aged about 20 years (removed from St Giles in the Fields and now in the workhouse) saith she is the wife Benjamin Beenham to whom she was married at the sign of the Hand and Pen in the ffleet 18 months ago and hath one child by him (to wit) William aged about six months, that he was a yearly hired servant to one Mrs Varnull who kept house in York Buildings but knows not in what part, that the said Mrs Varnull took him from the Charity School in Hungerford Market and gave him at the rate of 4 pounds per ann. wages diet and lodging for the space of four years which he served the said Mrs Varnull (as her said husband hath informed her), and that he never kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant afterwards.
