Examination TextMary Ray aged about 23 Years at the Workhouse passed from St: James Clerkenwell, Saith she was never Married, That she was bound an Apprentice by Indenture for Seven Years to one Mrs Bullock who then lived in ffore Street in the Parish of St Giles without Cripplegate London and Served her said Mistress there about ffive Years and then she left her & went home to her Mother who some time afterwards went to her said mistress complaining of her Severe usage of her the said Mary Rayr her Daughter and threatening her for such Usage Whereupon the said Mrs Bullock Agreed to Discharge her and accordingly delivered up to the said Mary Ray's Mother that part of the Indres which was under her hand & Seal, Saith afterwards she was bound an Apprentice to Mr Arthur West Corkcutter against Bear Street in Castle Street in this Parish for one Year and an half and Served her said Master and his Widow there the full Term, which expired Seven Years the 4th of November last, Since which she never was a yearly hired Servant or are Housekeeper, Rented £10 by the year or paid any Parochial Taxes to any Parish.
