Examination TextRobert Hosier aged near 50 years removed from the Parish of St. Mary at Stratford Bow upon his oath saith he never was bound an apprentice, was born at Weston near Newbury in Berks, that about 20 years ago he was a yearly hired servant to one William Renson Esq. who lived next door to the Black Swann in Villers Street York Buildings for the space of seven years the yearly wages of 6 pounds diet washing and lodging, was hired York Buildings aforesaid in the summertime and stayed in town about a month then went to Hampton Court, stayed there about two months then returned to town and stayed all winter, and so yearly during the seven years, that he served generally in Villers Street aforesaid from September to May and from thence to September his mistress was constantly at Hampton Court and that his master and he never stayed there more than a week at a time, that about half a year after he left the service being all the time out of business he was married to Elizabeth his late wife (who has been dead three years) in St Giles's Church, hath no child by her nor been in any service (except that of a day labourer) since he left the said Mr Renson's service, nor ever kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes since.
