Examination TextWilliam Lowen aged 40 years removed from the Parish of St Clement Danes upon his oath saith he has had three wives, was married to Eleanor his first wife (who died six years ago) at the Hand and Pen in Fleet Lane about 15 years ago by whom he hath two children living, William aged 14 years and John aged eight years, removed with this Examinant, that he was married to his second wife Susannah (who died about one year ago) in the Fleet about five years ago by whom he hath one child living, Thomas aged about three years also removed with this Examinant, that he was married to his present wife Elizabeth, also removed with this Examinant at the Hand and Pen in the Fleet aforesaid on the 30th Day of March last by whom he hath no child, that he this Examinant is by trade and Carpenter and was bound an apprentice by indenture for seven years to one William Sudbury a Carpenter who lived in the house now Justice Errington's in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, where and with whom he served all his apprenticeship which expired 17 years ago, since which he lived in and rented an house in Bennetts Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid of 10 pounds per ann.and wherein he continued one year paid parochial taxes, quitted the same about 13 years ago since which he never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or hath been a yearly hired servant. Sworn the 16th Day of February 1742 before me James Fraser.
