Examination Text | Ann Champion aged about 34 years removed from the Parish of St. James Westminster with Mary her child aged one year and four months upon her oath saith she was married to her husband William Champion (gone from her last March and hath not seen or heard from him since) in a private house in Church Street in St. Anne by Mr Butler, a Romish Priest about 12 years ago, that her said husband is a Shoemaker by trade and was bound an apprentice by indentures for seven years to one William Eldridge, a Shoemaker who lives in Castle Street below the Coach and Horses there in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields where and with whom he served all his said apprenticeship which expired about 18 years ago, since which he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly servant. Sworn the 12th Day of January 1742 before me James Fraser. |
