Examination Text | Richard Hutchinson aged near 70 years in the workhouse of and belonging to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and removed from the Parish of St Botolph Aldersgate London upon his oath saith he was married his present wife Elizabeth in the ffleet Chapell about 40 years ago, that he follows the trade of a Shoemaker but was never bound an apprentice to that or any other business, that this Examinant when single and unmarried was a yearly hired servant to one James Blatham who kept the Crown alehouse facing Ivy Bridge in the Strand near five years at the yearly wages of 3 pounds diet washing and lodging, went directly from thence to one Christopher Fossett who kept the Ball and Tun alehouse by Bull Inn Court in the Strand where this Examinant continued three [years] at the yearly wages of 3 pounds diet washing and lodging and never did anything to gain a settlement since.
