Examination TextEleanor Thompson aged upwards of 44 years lodging at one Brown's next door to the Woolpack in Langley Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields within the liberty of Westminster upon her oath saith that about 24 years ago she was married to one Samuel Penkethman who was a Taylor by trade and served the latter part of his apprenticeship with his Father in Langley Street in the liberty of the Kings Bench Prison, that after his apprenticeship was expired he never was a yearly hired servant rented any house or apartment of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes, that he died about seven years ago, that about 2 years ago she was married to Alexander Thompson at Joshua Lilley's office at the Fleet, a Taylor by trade and rented and lived in an house at the yearly rate of 18 pounds in Bedfordbury in the said Parish, that he quitted the same about 20 years ago and never was a yearly hired servant rented any house or apartment of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes afterwards, but died in the workhouse of the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields upwards of a year ago, where this Examinant hath been two or three times before and since his death, that she hath no child living.
