The Indenture Witnesseth That Hugh Mills< no role > & Thomas Kirkham< no role > Churchwardens
Phillip Pincknye< no role > Benjamin Harvey< no role > John Dorrill< no role > & Mathew Beaver< no role > Overseers of ye poore
of the parish of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middx with the assent of Hugh
Chamberlen & William Bridgman< no role > Esqrs . Justices of the peace for the County of Middx &
Citty & Liberty of Westmr : according to the Statute in that case made & pvided have put
Anne Singleton< no role > a poore Child apprentice to [..] Sarah stratford the wife of Janes
straford and with her after the manner of an apprentice to dwell & serve from the
day of the date hereof unto the full end & terme of Seaven yeares from theme next
ensueing & fully to be compleate & ended Dureing all which said terme wee the Church
wardens & overseers of the poore with the assent aforesaid Doe order & appointe the said
apprentice well & faithfully her said Mrs. shall serve her secretts keepe her Comandmts.
lawfull & honest every where shall gladly doe hurt to her Mr. Shee shall not doe
nor consent to be done of others but that shee to her power shall prvent the same
else from time to time admonish her thereof the goods of her said Mrs. Shee shall
wast nor them to any body lend without her consent neither from her service by day
nor night shall not absent herself Taverns or Alehouses shee shall not frequent
at cards dice or any other unlawfull game shee shall not play but in all things
as a good & faithfull servt. ought to doe Shall behave herself towards her Sd
Mr. & all hers dureing the Said terme And the Said Sarah Stratford< no role > shall teach &
instruct or cause to be taught & instructed her said Apprentice in houswifrie
according to the best of her skill & knowledge and shall give to & provide for [..]
apprentice sufficient meate drink washing lodging apparrell linnen and
other Necessaryes meete & convenient for such an Apprentice dureing the said
And for the true performance of all the Articles in forme aforesaid to be kept
the said parties to these prsent Indentures bind themselves each to other by the
prsents In witnesse whereof the sd parties to these prsent Indentures Interchangeably
have sett their hands & seales the second day of October in the Fifth yeare
their Maties Reigne Annoqz Dui 1694
