Mary Dax< no role > This name instance is in set 5803222. Aged about 30 years on her
Oath says she never was Married Rented House
or paid Taxes says she Lived as a Hired yearly
Servant with one Mrs. Flynn of Norfolk Street in
the parish of St. Clement Danes for Eighteen Months
at the yearly Wages of Six pounds hath quitted
said Service upwards of Eighteen Months, Since
which time she has gained no other settlement than
as aforesaid and further on her Voluntary oath
says she is pregnant with Child or Children which
is or are likely to be Born a Bastard or Bastards and
is become Chargeable to the said Parish of St. Clemt.
Danes she being Poor & unable to maintain the same
when Ban and further saith that and James
Madan
< no role > This name instance is in set 2086. who formerly kept the Black Bull the Corner
of West Lane Rotherhithe is the Father of such Child
or Children he havg. had Carnal Knowledge of this
Examinants Body sometime in the Month of June
last and as several different times afterwards at some
or one of such times he got her with Child of the Child or
Children of which she is now pregnant and that the sd.
James Madan & no other person did beget the same & that
he is the Real & true father thereof Says she believes the father is gone to live at Blackwall , that his Br [..]
lives the Corner of D [..] and Bear Yard in Tooley Street
