Informations of Witnesses taken
this 24th. day of Jany 1797 in the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square at the
Dwelling house of Thos. Jones< no role > the Sign
of the Bricklayers Arms in Duke
Street Grosvenor Square before
Anthony Gell< no role > his Majesty's Coroner
for the said City and Liberty, touching
the Death of Mary Danby< no role > an Infant
aged about two years then and there
lying dead as follow to wit.

Margaret Evans< no role > a Lodger at Mrs. Wilcox in Grosvr
Mews being Sworn deposeth that on the 7th.
Instant about 11 in the Forenoon she was at
Mrs. Mc. Guy's in Grosvenor Market and heard
the Deceased who was up Stairs, scream out
whereupon the Mother of the deceased (who was just
before come down stairs) ran up Stairs and this Depont
followed her & [..] the Mother got into the Room
first & found her Child all in Flames which she
tried to extinguish and this Deponent assisted her
and they put out the Flames at which time the
Deceased was very much burnt and they went
immediately
