taken this 24 Jany 1797
at the House ofthe Sign
of the Feather Lower Grosvenor Place in the
parish of St. George Hanover on view of the
Body of

Elizabeth< no role > the Wife of Joseph Leigh< no role > a soldier & she believes is
now in St. Domingo along of No. 21 North Row Oxford Street
being Sworn saith that, she has known the
deced four years. that Mrs Gouch employed the
Mother of the Deced to take Care of her House during
her Absence in Osnaburgh Row Chelsea About
6 or 7 Weeks ago the Mother look the Deced
into Mrs Gouch's House. About 13 Days
ago the Mother came Crying to this Dept.
& said she had been to see the Deced
that she found her in a fit & begged that
this Dept. would go & take Care of her she
Aliss Scott she left with the deced Accordingly went that same Evening
with the Mother about 9 o' Clock. the Mother
staid till about 11 o'Clock same eveng
& the Mother went away & she has not seen
her sincethis Mrs Scott & this Dept
staid with the Deced till last Saturday
Sevenight. she always complained that
she told this Dept th about 6 days ago
her Inside was very bad a that she had
miscarried before she was taken to Mrs Gouch.
It was reported by several persons that
the Deced was with Child before she
