Informations of Witnesses taken
this 21st. Jany 1797 at the House of
John Maddox< no role > the Sign of the Black Horse in
Whitcomb Street in the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields
on view of the Body of Peter Cockrans< no role >

being sworn saith that the deced has lodged at his
House about 3 month last past.he had a Cough
when he first came which was always bad he
never remembered the deced to have spit any
Blood. he went out Yesterday Morning between
7 & 8 o' Clock to work as usual (he was a Turner)
he returned home Yesterday Evening about 9
o' Clock & complained much.he drank
nothing but went immediately to Bed
nothing more was heard of him till this
day about a little after 2 o' Clock when the
Maid servant came down stairs crying
& said poor Cockrane was dead. this Dept
went up stairs immediately with a Mr
Durham who found the sd Petr. Cockrane
quite dead, this Dept. has not the least
doubt but that he died a natl. Death
