Informations taken this Eighteenth
day of September 1788 at the Parish
of St. James within the Liberty of Westmr.
in the County of Midsex upon an
Inquisition touching the death of
Susanna Thornton< no role > lying dead in
the said Parish Liberty and County

Elizabeth Swabry< no role > Servant to Susanna Cook< no role >
in Poland Street on her Oath saith That she
has known the Deced about six andfrequently
carried the Deced her Break fast & Dinner
to her almost every Day to the House
where she slept belonging to Mrs. Cook, Says
that other saw the Deced. at the Door about
Twelve o' Clock last Night, when she complaind
of being Cold and desired Dept. to bring her
a little Ale in a Pint Pot, but Dept. did not
Says that the Deced was then in Liquor
but not so much Intoxicated as she had
often seen her the Deced being very
much Addicted to Drinking, and
Dept. believes that the Deced was Suffocated

Samuel Cook< no role > Brother to the Deced on
his Oath saith, That he sleeps in the same
House with Deced in Oxford Street in the
Parish of St. James Westmr. Says that he
came home last Night about half past Twelve
and fastened the Street Door but did not see
the Deced Suppoing that she was gone
to Bad Says that about a Quarter after
Nine o' Clock this Morning Dept. went
to call the Deced, and found Her lying
dead on her Back upon the Bad with a White Froth
around
