Informations taken this fourteenth day
of April 1783 at the Parish of St. Paul [..]
Covent Garden within the Liberty of
Westmr. in the County of Midsex upon
an Inquisition touching the death of
Richard Coulthard< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish Liberty and County.

Richard Brain< no role > Servant to Messrs. John Francis< no role >
and Christopher Crook< no role > Linnen Drapers in York
Street in the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden
on his Oath saith That he has lived there
about a Year & three Quarters, and that
Richard Coulthard< no role > the Deced has lived there
as Book Keeper longer than Dept. Says that
his Dept. was called up this Morning about
a Quarter before Six o'Clock, to take Deced's
Horse who was just come home, and
appeared to be sober, Says that he
took the Horse to the Sign of the George
in Long Acre , Since fetched it back, to
Mr. Francis's and afterwards sent the Horse
to Mr. Johnsons at Islington to whom the
Home belonged, as Deced informed him,
Says that the Deced stard in the Shop
to day, appearing to be very un easy,
Says that between two & three o'Clock this
Afternoon Dept. being below Stairs, came up
and Missing the Deced & asked where he
was and was told that he was gone
up Stairs, and immediately Mr. Walker
the Apprentice came down, Saying He has
fastened the Door, upon which Dept. Mr.
Walker and Mr. Godman a Journey man
went up to Deceds Room Door which was
Bolted, and Dept. with his foot forced it open
