Verdict of the Jury touching the Death of James Porter< no role >
That the said James Porter< no role >
on the 6th.13thday of July 1773,
being walking along a Plank from a Coal Lighter to the Shore
of the Dock of Mr. William Hoare< no role >
Coal Merchant in Milbank
Street in the Parish of St. John the Evangelist
Westmr with a
Lack of Coals on his Back, it so happened that the Feet
of the said James Porter< no role >
slipped by means whereof he the
Said James Porter< no role >
then and there accidentally casually and by
Misfortune fell from off the Said Plank with the said Lack
of Coals into the Water, and the right leg [..] of the said
James Porter< no role >
was by the force of the said fall together with
the weight of the said Lack of Coals fractured and Roke
of which the Said James Porter< no role >
Languished in the Westmr.
Hospital from the said136th. day of July 1773, to the
31st, day of the same Month, and then of a Fever occasioned
by the said Fracture on his Leg Died. And so the Jurors
say that the said James Porter< no role >
