Informations taken this 30th. day of October
1764 at the Parish of St. James within the Liberty
of Westmr. in the County of Middlesex on an Inquisition
taken on View of the Body of Peter Simpson< no role > lying
Dead in the said Parish Liberty and County

William Bacot< no role > of John Street Goldan Square in the Parish
of st. James Apothecary on his Oath saith, That on Saturday
last about five O' Clock in the afternoon Mrs.Simpson the Wife
of Mr. Simpson who is Brother to the Deced came to Deponent
and told him that the Deced was ill and that he feared that he had take
Prison and desired Dept. to come to Deced, says that he
immediately came with Mrs. Sampson to Deced, and found him
vomitting and complaining of great parish in his Bowls,
Dept. says that he said to Deced. that he was informed the Deced
had taken Arseine , and desired Deced to tell him where
he bought it and what Quantity he had taken. that Deponent
might better know what steps to take, to which Deced
Answered that he had bought three Penny worth of Arsenie
at a Colourshop the Corner of Sidney's alley near Leicester fields and that he
had taken it, Says that he gave Deced some Warm
Water and afterwords some Oil to encourage his Vomitting
says that he afterwords went to the Colourshop the Corner
of Sidney's Alley , and that the Person that keeps the shop
(when Name Dept. does not know) told Dept. that he had that
Day sold an [..] Ounce of Arsenie to a Man whom he did
not know for which he had taken three pence, but upon Dept.
describing the Deced and his Cloths, the Shoop keeper said
it answered the Description of the Person to whom he sold
the Arsenie, Says that Deced took more Oil, and that
about Eight O' Clock on Saturday Evening Dept. sent him aglister
Says that Deced continued in Great pain until about Elevan
O' Clock that Night, when he died, and Dept, says that he
believes the Deced's Death was occasioned by the Arsenie
he had taken
