that he would make away with himself

Mary< no role > the Wife of Benjamin Ward< no role > , a Lodger with Mrs.
Waller on her Oath saith, that last Night about Nine
O'Clock she heard her said Husband's Voice upon the Stairs
in said Mrs. Waller's house, where upon Deponent took her
Candle and went to meet him, Says that a Man lay down
there, and said Benjamin asked him who he was, to
which the Deced replied, it is only I Mr. Ward, My Wife
is not come home, whereupon the Dept. and her Husband
went into their own Apartment and left Deced upon the
Stairs, Says that she did not see the Deced since until she
saw him hanging upon the Stairs this Morning. Says
that the Deced for six months last past appeared very
Melancholy and dejected, and Deponent believes that
the Deced was disordered in his Senses.
