Informations taken this Second day of May 1764
at the Parish of St. Margaret within the City & Liberty
of Westminster in the County of Middlesex on an
Inquisition taken on View of the Body of Peter Hammond< no role >
lying Dead in the said Parish City Liberty and County.

Mary Davies< no role > [..] a Lodger to Mrs. Walker in the Almery
Westminster on her Oath saith, That she came down Stairs
about half an hour after six O'Clock this Morning (Depont.
lodging two pair of Stairs,) to carry home some Work that she
had done, Says that she then discovered the Deced hanging
upon the Stairs by a Cord fastened to the Banisters and
round the Deced's Neck, Says that she directly run
up Stairs and acquainted Mrs. Cook (with whom Deponent
lodged) of what she had seen, says that said Mrs. Cook came
with Deponent to Deced, and that she took hold of Deced's
hand, and that she also put her hand into Deced's Poson
and found him Cold, Deponent says that she likewise
touched Deced's fingers and found their Colds and says
that Deced was then Dead, but that he was not then cut
down.

Elizabeth Hammond< no role > the Wife of the Deced on her Oath
saith, That about three weeks or a Month ago, She and Deced
had some difference in their own lodging in Mrs. Eliz: Waller< no role > 's
House in the Great Almery Westmr. Says that the Deced the
next Morning got up when Depot. was Assleep and took out
of Depots. Pocket, onetwohalf Guinea, two Quarter Guineas [..]
two six shillings & nine pence pieces, and a Gold Ring, and went
away with them says that she did not see the Deced since that time
until she was informed this Morning that Deced was hanging
upon the Stairs, when Deponent came down and saw the
Deced hanging there, Deponent says that the Deced was
often inliquor, and then frequently declared that he would
do her a Mischief, and sometimes took Knifes into
