the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Middx on an
Inquisition on the Body of

in the 2d Troop of
House Grenadier Guards
on his Oath Saith that
on Yesterday be dined at the Queen's Head
at
nigh
Knights bridge
and upon an alarm that a
person had hanged himself at Mrs. Godman's Dept.
and Serjt. Templeton belonging to the same Troop
went there and being Shove the door Where the deced
was they broke open the Door immediately and
discovered the deced hanging by a Cord which looked
like a Cord belonging to a Sash window which was over
the Edge of the Door and twice round the deceds Neck
says that they lifted the deced down from the Door
neither having a Knife to cut the Cord, says be believes
the deced was then dead. Says that Mr. Evans a
Surgeon
and Apothecary
who was at the Queen's
Head
when the Report was brot. thew of the deceds
hanging himself, came to Mrs Godman's and attempted
to bleed the deced but to us purpose saying he was
dead. Says that by the Door being broken open by the
Hinges, be verily believes that it was have been
fastened by the Bolt on the inside.

his Oath Saith that be went with Mr. Withers
to Mrs. God mans upon the Alarm that deced had
hanged himself Saith that they broke open the
Door and he first went in, and discovered the deced
hanging to the Closet Door belonging to a back Room
by a Cord over the upper Edge of the Door and twice
round his Neck, says Mrs. Withers cause into the Room
and raised the deced and Deponen't took the Cord from
