Be it Remembered that on the thirtieth day of September
Great Marlborough Street in the Parish of Saint James within the Liberty of Westminster
City Borough and Town of Westminster in the County of Middlesex and Saint Martin-Le-grand London Samuel Pepys Cockerell< no role > one of the
intituled "An Act for the further and better Regulation of Buildings and party walls and for the more effectually preventing Mischiefs by
"Mortality the Parishes of Saint Mary-le-bon , Paddington , Saint Pancras and Saint Luke at Chelsea in the County of Middlesex and
"Buildings within the Limits aforesaid contrary to Law" for the district of Saint George Hanover Square within the Liberty of Westminster
Lord the King assigned to keep the Peace of our said Lord the King in and for the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of
and determine divers felonies Trespasses and other Misdemeanours committed in the said Liberty and giveth Us the said Justices to
within the Liberty aforesaid Carpenter after the Twenty Fourth day of June which was in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven
King unlawfully did erect and build and cause to be erected and built in a certain public Street called Upper Brook Street
intended for a Dwelling House and Offices of the first rate and class of Building with a Bow Window made of Wood and Plaister in the [..]
called upper Brook Street in the said Parish of Saint George Hanover Square in the said County of Middlesex and within the Liberty aforesaid (the said
Iron Pallisades nor being a Window to any Shop) contrary to the Rules and regulations appointed and directed by the Statute in
Publick Street called Upper Brook Street where the said Bow Window is made as aforesaid against the Form of the Statute
in the Premises and that the said John Helm< no role > may be summoned to answer to the said Complaint and Information and to [..]
Lord the King at the Publick Office aforesaid in the said Parish of Saint James in the said County of Middlesex and
to make his defence to the Matters contained in the said Complaint and Information and the said John Helm having
Thirty Eighth Year aforesaid at the Publick Office aforesaid in the said Parish of Saint James in the said County of [..]
not be convicted of the Premises above charged upon him in and by the said Complaint and Information who sa [..]
contained in the Said Complaint and Information And hereupon on the same day and Year last aforesaid at the Publick Office
said Samuel Pepys Cockerell< no role > being a credible Witness in this Behalf on the part of the Prosecution of the said Complaint [..]
now here administred to him the said Samuel Pepys Cockerell< no role > by Us the said Justices We the said Justices having
that the said Samuel Pepys Cockerell< no role > in the presence and hearing of the said John Helm< no role > deposeth and saith of and concerning
Pepys Cockerell hath viewed the said Brick Building intended for a Dwelling House and Offices mentioned in the [..]
and that there is a Bow Window made of Wood and Plaister in the Front of the said Building from the first pair of Stairs [..]
And that the said Bow Window doth extend beyond the front Line of the Ancient Building which stood in the Place where the said [..]
called Upper Brook Street where the said Bow Window in the said Complaint and Information mentioned is made [..]
said Complaint and Information mentioned were to the best of his Knowledge and Belief erected built and made and caused to
day of November in the said Thirty Eighth Year of the Reign of our said Lord the King at the Publick Office aforesaid in
credible Witness in this Behalf on the Part of the Prosecution of the said Complaint and Information cometh before Us the said
Charles Noble< no role > by Us the said Justices We the said Justices having competent Power and Authority to administer the
John Helm< no role > deposeth and saith of and concerning the Premises contained in the said complaint and Information as [..]
