The King against Thomas Jenkins< no role > and Mary
Rowley
< no role > (indicted by the Name of Mary< no role > the Wife
of the said Thomas Jenkins< no role > for a Misdemeanour

At the Prosecution of Thomas Southgate< no role >

Thomas Jenkins< no role > one of the abovenamed Defendants maketh
Oath that about ten days ago he spoke to his Sollicitor Mr. Ridgway to
apply to the Deputy Clerk of the Peace for the said City and Liberty in
order to bring down the said Indictment into Court that he this Deponent
and the said Mary Rowley< no role > might plead Not Guilty thereunto And
which would have been done on the last Day of this Session And
Bail put in to try the several Traverses of him this Deponent and
the said Mary Rowley< no role > on the said Indictment at the next Sessions
But this Deponent Saith he was presented so doing by
reason of his being taken up on a Benels Warrant On Friday
last late in the Evening And On Saturday last being
Ordered to give Notice of Bail to the Prosecutor He this Deponent
directed his Sollicitor to Do the same which this Deponent
hath been informed and believes was done And that Bail
attended this Court Yesterday for that purpose When the Court
Ordered this Matter to stand over till this Morning.

And this Deponent saith that One Mary Gray< no role > and Ann
Wright are each of them material Witnesses as to the Matters of
Fact on the Tryal of this Cause and without whose Testimony
He and the said Mary Rowley< no role > cannot safely go to Tryal
And this Deponent Saith that he Yesterday in the Afternoon [..] caused diligent
Enquiry to be made after his said Witnesses and hath been
informed (and which he believes to be true) that the
said Mary Gray< no role > lodges some where in or near Goodman's
Fields but that she cannot be found out at present
But he hath us Doubt but he shall be able to get her
to appear at the next Sessions and to give her Evidence
as aforesaid on the Tryal of the said Cause And that on
such Enquiry after the said Ann Wright< no role > he in informed
that
