The Examination of Mary Griffon< no role > Wife of
William Griffen< no role > a Soldier in Capt. Wrights Company in Coll.
Duro's Marching Regiment taken upon Oath this 1st. Day of
May 1742.

Who saith that her said Husband is gone with the said
Regiment to Flanders, And that he served his Apprentiship
to a Looking Glass Grinder in the Middle town of Glascon
in Scotland and never was a Housekeeper nor a Yearly hired
Servt And this Deponent further saith that she was Marryed to
her said Husband in the Outer Church of Glasscow aforesaid
almost 6 Years ago by whom she hath two Children now living
Namely Thomas aged upwards of three Years and half &
John Aged about Five Months And this Deponent Lastly
saith that she hath no Settled Place of Abode, but is forced to
Wander abroad, and is Destitute of all means of getting
a Lively hood and is Constrained to ask the Releif of
Charitable and well Disposed Persons And she further not,
