These are to Certify that the Statute [..]
Law now in force (to Oblige the Inhabitants
to amend the Highways Six days in the year)
is not Sufficient to repair and amend the Highways
of the Parish of St. George Hanover Square in the
Said Liberty without an order of the Quarter Sessions
of the Peace held for the said Liberty to make
a Rate and Assessment on the Inhabitants
of the said Parish for receiving the Sum of
four hundred Pounds and upwards for & towards
the repairing & amending the Highways belonging
to the said Parish and in our Opinion the Contents
of the within written Petition is true
Dated the 3d. Day of April 1741
