The Minutes of the last General Court held the
3d: January 1759 were read and confirmed.

The Clerk acquainted this Court, that since the
last General Court there had been the following Donations
from the following Governor's of this Hospital, Vizt.

The Rt. Hon: Charles Townshend< no role > , Esqr : £50.
Mr: William Steed< no role > £50.

Subscriptions being recommended by Mr.
President towards defraying the great Charge and Expence
of this Hospital the following Sums were subscribed, Vizt.

Rt. Honble. The Earl Temple£100.
George Wegg< no role > , Esqr :£50.

Comittee to enquire into
the State of ye Hospital
moved for Etca:


A Motion made and the Question put, the
a Committee be appointed to consider of, and to Examine
into the State of the Hospital, and They to make Their
Report to a General Court, which Court is to be sumon'd
for that purpose. On a Division it Passed in the
Negative.

Mr. President acquainting the Court that the
Occasion of Calling the same was to Choose an Assistant
Physician to this Hospital in the Place of Dr. Milner
lately Chosen Physician in the Room of Dr. Letherland
who had Resigned.

Dr. Akenside chose
Assistant Physician


The Petition's of Drs : Mark Akenside< no role > , George
Buxton
< no role > , John Fordyce< no role > , James Greive< no role > , John Hadley< no role > ,
Alexander Russell< no role > , and Hugh Smith< no role > , were severally
read, Praying to be Elected Assistant Physician to this
Hospital in the room of the said Dr. Milner. And Mr.
Treasurer acquainting the Court that He had Authority
from the said Drs: Buxton, Greive, Hadley and Smith, to
move that they might be at Liberty to withdraw their
Petition's being unwilling to trouble the Court with ballotting
for them this Time, in hopes of Their favour on a future
Occasion
