The Lord Mayor being present His
Lordship was pleased to acquaint the Court that the
defraying the great Charge of this Hospital depending
on the Benefactions of the Governors, It is the constant
Practice at every General Court to recommend
Subscriptions

For which purpose his Lordship order'd
the Clerk to attend the Governors present with the
Subscription Book which was accordingly done

And there was subscribed as follows Vizt
William Whitaker< no role > Esqr Aldermn . & Sheriff £100..-
James Colebrook< no role > Junr . Esqr 50..-
Mr James Gibson< no role > 50..-
Mr Philip Dela Haize< no role > 50..-

The Lord Mayor acquainted this
Court that the principal Design of calling it was
to choose as President in the room of Sr John Thompson< no role >
Knt : & Aldern : deced

Then the Court proceeded to Elect a
President in the room of Sr John Thompson Knt. &
Aldn: deced

Geo. Arnold Esqr.
chosen President


And it being moved and the Question put
that George Arnold< no role > Esqr . Alderman be chosen
President .

The said Mr Alderman Arnold was
unanimously elected to be President of this Hospital
in the room of Sr John Thompson deced

Ordered the the Treasurer, Mr Fawthrop
& Mr Lancashire be a Committee to wait on the said
Mr Alderman Arnold & acquaint him with his Election
& desire him to accept of the said Office
