Mr. Treasurer Acquainting the Committee
That this Hospital being constantly filled with Patients
So as to require the Attendance of all the Physicians &
Some of them having been frequently prevented by Ill.
ness from Visiting the PatientsProposed That
to Avoid any Prejudice to the Patients an Assistant
Physician should be Chosen to Act during the Pleasure
of the General Court But without any Salary

The said Proposal was Unanimously ap-
prov'd of And it is Ordered that the same be Laid before
the General Court which is now to be held for the Election
of a Minister of St. Thomas's Parish

And it being now moved & the Question put
that this Court doth Agree with the Committee in the said Resolution It passed
in the Affirmative

Mr. President then acquainted the Court
that the immediate Occasion of calling the same was to
Choose a Minister of St. Thomas's Parish in the room
of the Revd. Mr. Casberd Deceased

Revd. Mr. Halford
Chose Minister of
St. Thomas's Parish


And thereupon this Court Proceeded to the
Choice of a Proper Person to Succeed him And the
Petitions of the Revd: Mr. Halford and the Revd. Mr.
Marlow being presented to this Court and read severally
praying to be Chosen Minister of St. Thomas's Parish
in the room of the said Mr. Casberd deceased Each
of them were ask'd by Mr. President whether they
intended to Reside & they respectively Promisd so to
do And thereupon being severally put in Nomination
it appear'd upon a Division that the Numbers were
for Mr. Halford 132 and for Mr. Marlow 113 (with
the Tellers) whereupon Mr. Halford was Declared
to be duely Chosen to the said Office to hold the same
with the usual Salary & Porquisites thereunto be-
longing during the Pleasure of the General Court &
he was called in and Acquainted with his Election
who in a handsome Speech returned his Thanks to
the Court.
