We have agreed with Nathaniel Laws< no role > to grant him a
Lease for a terme of fifty one Years from Michas 1729. of a
Toft of Ground at Wapping whereon lately stood a House
that was burnt down in January 1728. then in the tenure of
John Usher< no role > at the Yearly rent of five Pounds tax free in
consideration of a fine of £10.10.and his Covenant to build
thereon.

Arrear of Mr Guys
free Gift remitted}


We have Order'd that the Arrears of an Annual free Gift of
£100. to this Hospital subscribed by Thomas Guy< no role > Esqr . in the Year
1708 to be paid during his life but discontinued some time after
his building of three Wards in this House be discharged out of
the Accompt of this Hospital.

Doughty

We have agreed with George Doughty< no role > to grant him a
Lease of two Houses in the Old Change for the terme of twenty
one Years from Michas 1729. at the Yearly rent of £12. tax free
in Consideration of a fine of £60. and of his laying out £40. in
Substantial repairs within the three first Years of the said
terme.

Lease of Houses
in St. Thomas's }

Part of the Building of this Hospital being old and
ruinous and unfit for the occasions of the Hospital And we
conceiving it absolutely necessary that the same shall be
rebuilt and that several Offices should be altered and
enlarged and as we apprehended there would be a want
of ground for the erecting and enlarging such Offices We
therefore agreed with Anna Wane< no role > Executrix of Dennis
Herbert
< no role > one of the Tenants of this Hospital to pay her
and we have accordingly paid her sum of £110. for
the absolute Sale and Surrender of a Lease from this
Hospital of Seven old Tenements on the South Side of
the third Square of this Hospital from Michaelmas last
wherein there was then to come a terme [..] of
eight Years and a quarter in order to enlarge the ground
for the purposes aforesaid.

We have Agreed with John Cowcher< no role > to grant him a
Lease of the Rose and Crown on the East Side of the High
Street of the Borrough of Southwark for a terme of One
and twenty Years from Michas 1730. when the present
Lease thereof will expire at the old yearly rent of £5. tax
free in Consideration of a fine of £250. He is to put the
premisses into substantial repair at his own charge.

We have agreed with Anne Gregg< no role > widow to grant her a
a Lease of a House in Pater noster Row late in the Occupat [..]
of Thomas Rigg< no role > for the terme of Seven Years from Lady day
1730. at the Yearly rent of £25. tax free without fine she
to be allowed £15. out of the first rent which shall become due
for repairs.
