Views of Parndon

Wee have had lately Severall Views upon the Farmes in Parndon in Essex belonging
to this Hospitall, which are Incumbred with large old Buildings, and a Great part
of the said Buildings is much out of Repaire and very Ruinous, So that it may be
necessary to have some parts thereof pulled downe and Rebuilt, And the Leases
of all or most of our Farmes and Lands, there being now expired or near Expiring
Wee Recomend it to this Court That your Committee may be Impowred to Grant
such Additionall years (beyond the usuall Terme of one and Twenty years)
upon their Granting new Leases of the Farmes and Lands there, as may Incourage
your Tenants to Undertake such new Buildings at their Charge and to performe
the Same to the Satisfaccon of your Committee.

Wee Recomend it to this Court That our Steward may be Allowed A Free Gift
of Ten pounds for his Great Dilligence the last year in the Service of this Hospital

[..]

And we haveing looked into the Orders and Rules relateing to the Pupills
allowed to our Surgeons and Apothecary , And likewise to the Allowances
made to our Nurses; Wherein we think some Alterations may be necessary to be
made, We therefore Recomend it to this Court That your Committee may be
Impowred to Review the said Orders and Rules, and to make such Alteracons
and Regulations therein as they shall find proper and Agreable to the service
of this Hospitall.

And we takeing Notice of the Dilligent Service and Attendance of
Doctor Plumptre one of your Physitians, And Mr. Joseph Tanner< no role > your
Assistant Surgeon ; We Recomend it to this Court, That they may be established
on the Same Foot as the other Doctors and Surgeons with Respect to Sallaries
from Lady day next; And that Mr Tanner may from hence forth be looked
upon and Esteemed as one of the principall Surgeons of this Hospitall, And that
for their Services for this present year 1722: They may each of them be allowed
a Gratuity of Twenty pounds
