Death.

Mr. Trear Accquainted this Court that Sr. Robert Clayton< no role >
Knight , late president of this Hospll: Departed this Life the Sixteenth
of July last, and that this Court was Sumoned by Direccon of the Grand
Comittee for Electing a New President.

And a Mocon being made that a Chairman might be Chosen, The
Reportoryes of the Orders and proceedings of this Court were Searched, and
it appearing by many Instances of Courts held after the Death of
former Presidents, for the Electing of New Prsidents, and likewise of
Courts held in the Absence of former Presidents, that the same have
been held by the Trear for the time being. This Court thereupon
proceeded to the Eleccon of a President as usuall Mr. Trear being
in the Chair.

Chosen Presidt:

The Rt. Honble. St. Robert Beddingfeild< no role > Knight Lord Mayer
and all the rest of the Alderman (save such who are presidents of
other Hosplls.) were severally put in Nominacon, And being
reduced to St. Wm. Ashurst< no role > & Sr . Thomas Abney< no role > , They two were
again put in Nominacon, and the Eleccon by Majority of Hands
Fell on the said St. Thomas Abney< no role > .

Whereupon it is Ordered that Mr. Trear
Mr. Maine, Mr. Cole, Mr. Francis Moult< no role > , Majt. Cook
Mr. Baker & Mr. Corbett be a Comittee to Waite on Sr. Tho:
Abney< no role > , and Accquaint him therewith, and desire he would be
pleased to Accept the said place of president of this Hospll.
