been made to the Generall Courts held the 10th: and 19th: of January last
on occassion only of the Bill in Parliament for Erecting a New
Bridge between Lambeth and Westminster (vizt)

Wee have Agreed with Mr William Norgate< no role > to purchase in
his Interest in the Lease of Severall Small Tenements and a peice
of Garden-ground in the parish of St: Thomas in Southwarke , which
he held of this Hospitall for about 8: years yet to come; The Rents
whereof are about £40: P Ann: And we have taken an Assignment
of his Interest to Mr Mount and Mr. Powle In Trust for the Hospital.
In Consideracon of One hundred pounds paid by Mr. Treasurer in hand
to him, and One hundred and Fifty pounds principall money to be paid
with the Interest thereof upon a Mortgage made to John Lade< no role > Esqr .

Our worthy Benefactor Thomas Guy< no role > Esqr : haveing desired a Small
peice of the Garden lately belonging to said Norgate , to be made use of
in his new intended Hospitall now erecting within the said parish of
St: Thomas; We have Agreed, That so much of the said Garden as is marked
out for that purpose, shall be Granted to him in the Lease with the other
Ground which we have before agreed to Grant to him for the same Terme
and under the same Rent and Covenants.

Upon a view taken of the Chappell within this Hospitall for the
use of the Patients; we find that Severall Alterations and Repaires are
fitt and necessary to be made therein: And we have therefore Ordered the
same to be done as Soon as conveniently may be.

Beadle


Samuell Brawne< no role > one of our Beadles , being dead, Wee have
chosen James Dobney to Succeed him in the said place during the pleasure
of the Generall Court or Grand Committee.

New Governours


Wee have sent Green Staffs to the following Gentlemen, whom wee
think to be very proper persons to be Governors of this Hospitall (vizt)

Wee recomend to this Court that a Gratuity of Ten pounds may be
Given to our Steward for his Care and Pains the last year in the Service
of the Hospitall, which is of late years greatly Increased, by the Increase of
the Number of Patients.

Your Committee being Informed by Mr. Treasurer That the Parishioners
of St. Thomas's parish in July last were endeavouring by Threats & otherwise
to prevaile with Mr Casbeard our Chaplaine or Minister officiateing in the
Church of Free Chappell appointed for the use as well of the Patients and
Officers of this Hospitall as of the Parishioners; to Agree That a Lecturer
chosen by the said Parishioners should have the use of the Pulpitt alway's
on Sunday Mornings, And the said Mr Casbeard should Preach only in the
afternoons: Wee thought the Right of the Hospitall was much concerned therein
