Graunt


The Grand Comittee appointed by the said Court Do hereby humbly certify
That since the last Generall Court Wee have with submission to this Court
agreed with Neville Leman< no role > Citizen and Dyer of London for this Hospitalls
graunting unto him a Lease of a messuage in Pater noster row in the
parish of St. Faiths London late in the actuall possession of Sr . William Goslin< no role >
(Except two roomes already divided from it and added to the houses adjoyning
backward in the tenures of John Cambden< no role > and Ann Welden< no role > ) for the terme of
nine yeares from Michmas last att the yearely rent of Fifty pounds
paiable quarterly and the Lease to bee made with usuall Covenants for
repaires and viewing and a Covenant in case of any difference betweene
him and any other adjoyning Tenants about lights Etc to refer the same
to the Governuors of this Hospitall with a Schedule of all things Schedulable

And wee have also agreed with Capt. Richard More< no role > That in consideracon
of a Fine of Eighteene hundred pounds (Vizt. Eight hundred pounds to bee
paid in hand and the other One Thousand pounds residue in Five yeares
time computed from Christmas last past by One hundred pounds every Six
moneths Vizt. att Midsomer and Christmas there Shalbee a Lease made to
him of the Farme of Bewick in Holdernes neare Hull in the County of
yorke formerly in the tenure of John Moore< no role > Esq his father deceased
and late of William Thompson< no role > Esqr for the terme of One and Twenty
yeares from Whitsonfide next att and under the old yearely rent of
Fifty pounds to bee paid half yearely att Michmas and our Lady day
and with like Covenants and provisoes as in the former Lease.

And wee finding that George Cooper< no role > to whom this Court hath lately
graunted the Lease of the Tenement called the Crispiana in St. Thomas
parish Southwarke for one and Twenty yeares from Christmas 1696 for
Fifty Six pounds Fine had before the said Graunt and contract assigned
his interest in the former Lease and also the Lease thereof to bee new granted
to Charles Hopton< no role > Citizen and Fishmonger of London for valuable considercon
and the said Hopton and not the said Cooper hath paid the said Fine to
the use of this house Wee humbly conceive the said new intended Lease
ought to bee made to the said Charles Hopton< no role > .

Building


Wee having pursuant to the order of this Court begun the North and
East sides of the back Square of the intended new buildings for the better
receipte and entertainment of the Patients found that a Tenement scituate
in St. Thomas Parish Southwarke held from this house by Henry Tydy< no role > and
Elianor< no role > his wife by Lease expiring att Michmas 1704 under the
yearely rent of Fower and Forty Shillings stood so as it was not possible
without taking it in to carry this new building range att the South East
Corner and according to the draft approved of and thereby the same buildings
would have bin much disparaged. Therefore wee have agreed with them
That they paying all rent due to this house att Midsomer last & surrendring the said
Lease
