To Miss Russell, Croydon

Madam

I went to you some Tune after Lady day last respectg
the payment of rent for Premises which you hold of this Hospital
at St. Margarets Hell in Southwark, now in the Occupation of Messr.
Orms. & others, and I transmitted you the Order of the Grand Committee
fixing the Payments to be made half yearly as Lady day of Michs.
To then Note fuateen you addressed a Letter to the Chan Treasurer
Mr. Jeffries, expressive of your Wish that the Payment my [..] con-
tinues to be made yearly as Michaelmas heretofore; but he
then have got in Contemptation to resign her Offices did not, I believe
reply to your Regulet, & sence Michmas as your Agent has made the
yearly Payment as he had been accustomed to do.The present
Treasurer (Abel Chapman< no role > Esq ) now derects me to inform you,
that the Grand Committee having deliberately laid it down as a princept,
that the good of the Infletuteen requires that this Regulation should
be sacred ad hered to & uniformly inforced, he does not conceive
it to be withen the Limits of her Authority to hear ken to ende-
veduct Applications, as to pennet devealeous, from the general
Rule.Moreover, as we have understood that your Agent collects
the Real from Mess. Orme Etc. half yearly or cannot be encon-
vencent to prey when he has received; or, if you please to derect
Messes. Orme (with whom the Hospital deals properits) to pay
the Hospital rent, we will pass over Reccept to them, & they can
Cramfer or to your Agent when he settles with them.

The Treasurer has received your Letter about the Insurance
of your farm Buildings, I have to thank you for your Attention
Others Matters, He inform you that the Insurance apent him
does not capur tell neat Michmas, as which Tune the Hosptial
well renew it for 7 Years at one of the Officers in London and
inform you of the Expence that you in cry remet it will your
next years rent.

Sir

I am favoured with your Letter of Yesterday annexing a draft
on Messr. Harmon Prechitt Co. for £60 an Accots. of a Year rent
deer as Mechmas last from Mr. Gregory for the pun as mas
worth.

The Treasurer does sd yet reside as the House in the
Hospital but occasion takes her Dermen there; he alway
verets us on Wednesdays Thursdays & Fridays on other of
then days therefore that well put you & Mr Geogory to matr.
an appartment to meet, if you will a sow me with alive
the day before you will not be disappointed of an Intizseas even
him
