To the Worshipful His Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and
for the County of Middlesex in General Quarter Session of the
Peace for the said County Assembled.

The Humble Petition and Appeal of the Churchwardens and Overseers
of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Botolph Aldersgate in the City of London

Sheweth


That by virtue of an Order or Pass Warrant under the Hands and Seals
of Patrick Colquhoun< no role > and Daniel Williams< no role > Esquires two of this Majesty's
Justices of the Peace in and for the County of Middlesex (one whereof being of
the Quorum) bearing Date the Sixteenth day of March one thousand
seven hundred and ninety six Ann Terry< no role > (the wife of John Terry< no role > then [..]
a Prisoner in Newgate ) and their two Children namely Sarah< no role > aged
about Six Years and Edward< no role > aged about thirteen Months were
removed and conveyed from the Parish of Saint Luke in the County of
Middlesex and delivered unto your Petitioners being the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Botolph Aldersgate in
(the said Justices adjudging that the said Parish of Saint Botolph Aldersgate
in the said City of London was the place of the last legal Settlement of the
said Ann Terry< no role > and her said Children Sarah< no role > and Edward) whereby
your Petitioners apprehend themselves the aggrieved

Your Petitioners therefore humbly appeal against the said
Order or Pass Warrant and pray that the benefit of this their
Appeal may be saved unto them and that the hearing and
determination thereof may be adjourned until the next
General Session of the Peace to be holden for the said County.
