The King on the prosecutrix of John Cole< no role >
against Richard Lawless< no role > for Perjury

Richard Lawless< no role > of Castle Street Holborn London Gentleman the
Defendant above named and Peter Cathcart< no role > Clerk to the said Richard
Lawless
< no role > severally make Oath and Say And first this Deponent Peter
Cathcart for himself saith that he this Deponent being desired by the
other Deponent Richard Lawless< no role > to Subpone William Nash< no role > late of the
Mitre Tavern or public House Mitre Court Ely Place London aforesaid
he this Deponent did on the11th. Day of July instant go to the said Mitre
Tavern or public House in Mitre Court Ely Place aforesaid which said
public House the said William Nash< no role > lately kept and dwell in and where
this Deponent was informed he could meet with or get intelligence where the
said William Nash< no role > could be met with for the purpose of Subponaing him as a
Witness on the part of the other Deponent Richard Lawless< no role > the Defendant in
this prosecution And this Deponent further saith that on his enquiring for the
said William Nash< no role > at the said mitre Tavern or Public House as aforesaid
he was informed by the present Landlord of the said House that the said
William Nash< no role > had lately gone to Southampton as he the said Landlord had
been informed and believed but that he could not late any thing else about
him or words to that effect And this Deponent Richard Lawless< no role > for
himself saith that Notice of trying this Prosecution at the present Sessions was in due time given
to the said Prosecutors Solicitor Gabriel Akerman< no role > who had undertaken to
receive Notice of Trial on behalf of thesd. Prosecutor John Cole< no role > And this
Deponent further saith that he this Deponent die lately Make
frequent enquires after the said William Nash< no role > in Order to find out his
Place of abode or where he was to be met with for the purpose of
Subponaing him as a witness on this Prosecution but without effect
And this Deponent Richard Lawless< no role > further saith that the said
William Nash< no role > is a Material Witness for him this Deponent in this
Prosecution and without whose Testimony this Deponent believes he
Cannot safely go to trial And this Deponent upon his Oath saith
that he will use his best endeavours to find the said William Nash< no role > .
