At the General Session of the peace of our Sovereign Lord
the King holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall
in St. John Street in the said County (by Adjournment) on
Saturday the twenty ninth day of May 1762 in the second
year of the Regin of our Sovereign Lord George the third King of
Great Britain Etc before Thomas Lane< no role > Merry Teshmaker< no role >
George Green< no role > Benjamin Cowley< no role > Esqrs . and other their Fellows
Justices of our said Lord the King assigned to keep the peace of our said Lord the King within the County aforesaid And
also' to hear and determine divers Felonies Trespasses and
other Misdemeanours committed in the same County

Whereas the Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish
of St. James within the Liberty of Westminster in the County aforesaid have
this day exhibited their Petition and Appeal to the Court setting forth that
by Virtue of a pass Warrant or Order under the hands and Seals of John
Upton
< no role > and William Rugge< no role > Esqrs. two of his Majesty's Justices of the
peace for the City and liberty of Westminster (one being of the Quorum)
bearing date the 30th. day of April last Elizabeth Phillips< no role > Widow
was removed from the Parish of St. George Hanover Square within the
Liberty of Westminster in the County aforesaid to the said parish of
St. James as the place of her last legal Settlement whereby the
Petitioners conceived themselves aggrieved Whereupon at the
request of the said petitioners It is Ordered that the benefit of their
said Appeal be saved unto them and that the hearing and determining
of the same be and the same is hereby adjourned until the next
General Quarter Session of the peace to be held for the said County
And it is further Ordered that the Church Wardens and Overseers of
the poor of the said parish of St. George Hanover Square upon Notice
hereof to be given to them in the mean time and all other persons
concerned do Attend the Court at Hicks Hall aforesaid on Tuesday
the thirteenth day of July next by nine of the Clock in the forenoon
(at which time and place the said next Session is intented to be holden
by adjournment) to hear and abide the Judgement and determination
of that Court in the premisses.
