[..] 24th. April 1761. touching the death of Philip
Carr
< no role > then & there lying dead.

Francis Boswell< no role > of Wells Yard Tire-Smith . That
last Saturday Night the Witness Wife came to fetch him
from the Barbers for her Uncle patrick O'Gwynn< no role > was having
Words & quarrelling at the Bulls head abt. a Gown - came
& Went into the Bulls head where his Uncle was That his
Uncle called for a Pot of Beer for himself & his Wife & the
Witness & his WifeThinks it abt. 10 at Night. Says that
the deceds Wife was Sitting in a Box with one Mrs. Conner
That the deced had had Words with his Wife in the Room
& they were Separated from each other That the deced
was very much inSigator & wanted again to Go to his Wife but cannot Say directly
for what purposeThat Morgan Farrell< no role > who keeps the
Bulls head Endeavor'd to prevent him & desired him
to Sit down quietly & keeps the Peace & that if he
Would not he would turn him out of his House. That
afterwards the deceds Wife put two pieces of hung Beef
upon the Coals to BroilThat the deced Suatch'd it oft
& brought it to the Table where the Witness & his Uncle
were & offer'd it round but none Was accepted & he
was desired to keep his own Company but the deced
kept his place & Eat some of the BeefThat soon after
one Conner & anor. Man unknown came into the Room & Sat
down in the Box where Mrs. Connor & the deceds Wife
were & the deced then got up & went towds. the Box
they were in, & was going to make a Blow at one of
the Women but cannot Says wch. That Conner tha Man jumped
up & oblig'd the deced to Go back to his place by Some
threatning Words but he did not then strike him. That
the deced soon rose up again in a passion & went to the
Box & Strack one of the Women but cannot say wch.
