the least notice or intimation of the said Mc. Allesters intention of being
Bailed to this Depts. would have approved the same to the le. Hurst of his
power and this Depts. George Campbell< no role > further says that Geoge Sweatman
aforesd. having lain from the time of his Commitment aforesd. till some time in
Derr. foll in new prison aforesd. in Order to be a witness on the sd. indictmts.
to the said George Sweatman< no role > was at last as this Depts. has been informed &
bels. Discharged out of prison by Mr. Justice Lidiard upon giving Security to
appear & prosecute and this Dept. Geo: Campbell further saith that he has
from time to time since the sd, Sweatman was Bailed as afd used all the
Endeavours in his power to find out where the sd. Sweatman was or lived
but this Depts. was not able from abt. a Fortnight after the sd. Sweatman
was so Discharged from prison to find out where he was or lived but this
Dept. has been Credibly informed and bels. that the sd. George Sweatman< no role > has
been Spirited away or Secreted by the sd. Oliver Mc. Allester< no role > & is now
kept out of the way by him in order to present his giving Evidence at the Trial
of the sd. Oliver Mc. Allester on the said Indictmt. but this Dept. hopes and
Expects to have the Baw fit of the said George Sweatmans Evidence at the
Tryal of the sd. Oliver Mc. Allester at the next sessions to be held at the Old
Bailey and without whose Evidence this Depts. saith he cannot with
safely proceed to Tryal he being as this Dept. has been informed and verily
bels. privy to the whole Forgery charged by the sd. Indictmt. and the Depts. James
Ready
< no role > for himself saith that the sd. George Sweatman< no role > Lodged at this Depts.
House at Chelsea aforesd. for abt. afortnight after he was Discharged old
of new prison as aforesaid but what has become of him since this Depts.
doth not know Except that this Depts. has been credibly informed & verily
believer that he has been often with the sd. Mc. Allester and that the sd. Mc.
Allester has Spiritted him away or sereted him in order to prevent his giving
Evidence at the Trial of the sd. Indictmt. and the Dept.George Campbell< no role > for
himself further severally says that the sd. Oliver Mc. Allester from the time the
Indictment afd. was found agt. him to this 17th day of July instant has obscond
and Secreted himself in Order to avoid his being Apprehended and sent
to Goal
