The Information of Catharine Wells< no role > Wife of Joshua Wells< no role > of
St George Hanover Square taken the 12th. day of September 1753
Touching the death of John Shivers< no role >

This Informant Saith That on Tuesday the twenty eighth
day of August last about Seven or Eight Minutes after Eight o' Clock in the
Morning as she was Standing at her Masters door in Upper Brook
Street a Gentleman in Gray Clothes came by and Seem'd in a great
Concern, and said a Man had Knockt a Boy down and She beleived had
Killd him and [..] Some body would beat him as much or to that purpose,
that she this Informant Soon after went into Hyde Park and saw the deced
John Shivers< no role > lay under a Walnut tree and found him Senseless and [..]
Speechless, that he lay on his Side and that she turn'd him on his
Back and found Some blood under him, and that putting her Hand
in his Pockett she [..] found a few Walnutts, That she then lay his
Hatt under his head and left him. She further Saith that [..]
Saw no body in the Park all that time, That she call'd at the Hou [..]
at the Gate and saw a Man Sitting there, and she told him of the boys
being there and he Seem'd to take no notice of it, That she then went
out of the Park to her Husband and returng Sometime afterwards ahe
Saw Several People about the [..] Boy and that he was then Carried
to the Hospital

She further Saith that the Gentlemen, did not say what
Sort of a Man or what duss the man was in who as she said Struck
the Boy.
