Abigail Hayes< no role > Single woman maketh last That about Seven
Years Since she became a Servant hired by the Year to One Mr.
Verne a Distiller being near Hockley Hole (but in what parish
she doth not know but beleives it was in ye parish of St. James
Clerkenwell in ye County of Middx by Reacon her Master &
his family went to that Church) at five pounds by the
Year Wages Meat Drink Washing & Lodging in which
Service she left the Service of the said Mr. Vernon she
hath not gained any Settlement house ever [..]
That above five Years Since she became familiarly
acquainted wth one John James< no role > a Maltster who hath for
about there five Year post Cohabited wth her as a Husband
and about three Years since ye sd. John Tanner< no role > be got wth Child
of Male Bastard of wth She was Delivered in the house of
John Hayes< no role > her father at Twickenham Middx [..] about ye 14 or 15th ofJanuary1729
wth male Bastard Child was Some time after Baptized in the
parish Church of Twicken by the name of John < no role > That the
said John Tanner< no role > is ye Only true father of ye Sd. John the
said male Bastard Child & no person else That about
four months since the said John Tanner< no role > also begat her wth.
Child of ye Bastard Child or Children of wth she is now pregnant
& hath about five months to Reckon That the said John
Tanner
< no role > is also ye Only & true father of ye St. Bastard Child
or Children of wth she is now pregnant & no Pson else
That the said John Tanner< no role > hath left her this Deponent
about four months & she Knoweth not where he is Gones
