Upon informacon given unto this Court by William Simpkin< no role > that
he was by deed of apprenticehood beareing into the fourth day
of September one thousand seven hundred & thirteen putt
Apprentice to Dacimus Price< no role > Sword-Cutler for the terme of
seven yeares comenceing from the day of the date there of, And
that his said Master is & for some time past hath been a prisoner
in the Marshalsea Prison in Southwarke , and that the sd. William
Simpkin
< no role > is noe ways taken care of as to necessarys or instructed
his busyness, And that the sd. deed not being indented he humbly
conceived the same to be illegall, And the sd William Simpkin
therefore praying that he wight be discharged from his
apprenticehood to the said Dacimus Price, It was Ordered
by this Court that the said Dacimus price should attend this
Court on this present Friday the thirteenth day of September
instant at ten of the clock in the forenoon to shew cause why
the said William Simpkin should not discharged of his
Service to the said Dacimus Price, Now upon heareing of
what was alledged by the said William Simpkin
and alsoe of what was insisted on by the wife of the sd. Dacimus Price
& by one Mr. Heyward his Agent on behalfe of him the said Dacimus
[..] For that it appeareth to this Court upon produceing the sd
deed of apprenticehood that the same is not indented as the
law is such case directs This Court is of opinion that the
said deed of apprenticehood is voyd & of noe effect, And
doth Order that the said William Simpkin be and he is hereby
absolutely discharged of and from his apprenticehood to the
Said Dacimus Price, And wee whose hands and seales are
hereunto sett being four of his Maties. Justices of the peace for
this County (Quop vuns) present at the said Sessions have
pronounced and declared and doe pronounce & declare
that for the reasons aforesaid wee have discharged and
