December 1799.

"his case to the Committee you will not only do an
"Act of strict Justice but also much oblige Sr.. your
"most Obedient & humble Servant.

Your Committee proceeded to the Consideration
of the matters therein set forth and it appearing
by the Examination of Mr.. Aris that Talent had been
a Prisoner in the House of Correction 20. Months
that during the greater part of that time he had
been employed as a Carpenter and had worked at
the New House lately built in the Prison for a
residence for the Governor and had conducted him-
self with great propriety, - Your Committee directed
that the said Isaac Talent< no role > should be Allowed the
sum of Five pounds and five shillings as a
proportionate part of his earnings and that the
Governor of the House of Correction should pay the
same

And the said Committee further Report That
having Considered the Petition of Thomas Davies< no role >
referred to them by the Court in September Session
last and having Examined the Chaplain, the Surgeon
and Apothecary and the Governor touching the
matters contained therein and the Allegations in
the said Petition appearing to be true It is Opinion
of Your Committee that the said Thomas Davis< no role > should
be Allowed a Weekly stipend by the County and they
therefore recommend it to the Court to Order him 7s./6d.
Per Week to be paid by Mr.. Aris in like manner as
the other Servants of the Prison are paid their Weekly Wages

And the said Committee further Report That
having received the following Letter from Mr.. Webb
the Surgeon and Apothecary to the Prisons Vizt..

"The House lately occupied by the Governor
"of the House of Correction before his removal to the
