Whereupon A Motion was made That the said John Davis< no role >
is duly Elected Surgeon and Apothecary to the house of Correction at
Clerkenwell and the New Prison there and the same being agreed to
Resolved that the said John Davis< no role > is duly Elected Surgeon and
Apothecary to the House of Correction at Clerkenwell and the New Prison
there in the room of the said Jonathan Hayne< no role > with a Salary of One
Hundred Pounds per Annum for his Attendance and Medicines
necessary and proper for the Sick Prisoners in the said Prisons and
that he be paid his Salary Quarterly. and that the same do commerce
from theday oflast.

By Adjournment same day.

The Sheriff of the County of Middlesex having produced and
shewn to this Court a certain Writ of Execution issuing out of the
court of Common Pleas at Westminster at the Suit of John Bell< no role > tested
the 12th. day of February last whereby the said Sheriff is commanded
that of the Goods and Chattels of the Inhabitants of the Hundred
of Ossulston in his County he cause to be levied Forty Six Pounds
Eight shillings which John Bell< no role > in the said Court before the Justices
at Westminster recovered against John Highinbottom< no role > and Richard
Towne
< no role > two of the Inhabitants of the said Hundred for his damages
which he had sustained by occasion of a certain Trespass and Riot
done to the said John Bell< no role > and whereof the said John Highinbottom< no role >
and Richard Towne< no role > were Convicted and due proof upon Oath having
been made before this Court that the just and necessary Expences
which the said John Highinbottom< no role > and Richard Towne< no role > as Inhan'ts
of the said Hundred have been at in defending such Action have been
Taxed by the proper Officer of the said Court and Amounts to the Sum of
£9..4..9 And this Court being of Opinion that to assess and Tax
rateably and proportionably all and every the Towns Parishes
Villages Hamlets and Places of the said Hundred of Ossulston
according to the directions of the several Statutes in such Case
made and provided to raise the said several Sums of £46..8..0 &
£9..4..9 would be attended with very great trouble and expence
