That the said Committee do Report to the present Session on
Monday next the 14th. Instant the present state of the Sick in
both Prisons:
That the said Committee do inquire by whom they were
committed and for what Offences: Also the number dead since the
last Session: and Also an Account of the species and of Cloathing
that is necessary and the cost of the same.
By Adjournment at the Session House aforesaid on

The following Report of the Committee appointed to enquire into
the state of the Sick Prisoners in the New Prison
and House of
Correction at Clerkenwell
being Read Vizt.

The Report of the Committee appointed to enquire into the state
of the Sick Prisoners in the New Prison
and House of Correction at
Clerkenwell
being Read Vizt.
The said Committee Report, That the Governor of the
House of Correction
and the Keeper of New Prison
at Clerkenwell
severally declared that they had no Prisoners detained iN Prison for Fees only.
The Apothecary Mr Gibbs and Mr Chamberlayne his Assistant
delivered in detail, an Account of the state of Health of the Prisoners
they then Subscribed the following Certificate Vizt.
"That there has been indeed and still exists a Fever in

Bridewell
and from which no Prison where so many are
"confined can be quite free but it is not of a nature particularly malignant
"and not of that sort which is termed the Jail Distemper.
