Middlesex

At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden in and for the County of Middlesex at the
Session House for the said County (by adjournment) on
Thursday the Eighth day of December in the Thirty
second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
Third King of Great Britain Etc Before William

It appearing to this Court by the Accounts of the Treasurer
of the Monies received towards defraying the Expence of Building the
New House of Correction for the County of Middlesex that there
remains a Balance in his Hands of £423..14,,11¼ only and Mr
Rogers the County Surveyor having delivered it as his Opinion that the
further Sum of £20,000 will be wanted to defray the Expences that will
be incurred in finally compleating the said House of Correction

Resolved it is the Opinion of this Court that the Sum of
Twenty Thousand Pounds should be raised by Tonline at 4½ P Cent P
Annum, for defraying the Expence of Building the New House of Correction
for the County of Middlesex and for the other purposes mentioned in the Act of
Parliament of the Twenty sixth year of the Reign of his present Majesty
entitled "An Act to enable the Justices of the Peace for the County of
Middlesex to raise Money in manner therein mentioned, for Erecting a
House of Correction within the said County."

Resolved that a Proposal be prepared to that Effect and
that it be referred to the Committee appointed in April Session 1786 to
Execute the Plan of the said House of Correction to carry the abovementioned
Resolution into Effect:
