Surveyor attending) and were of Opinion that on Account of the great
difficulty of procuring Stone and the delay necessarily occasioned
thereby as well as the very great Expence in compleating the said
Building on the Plan originally designed it will be adviseable to make
some Alterations in the Building with a view of reducing the Expence
and expediting the completing the same, which Alterations were
pointed out to Mr. Rogers and he was directed to make out an
Account and Estimate of the several Works which it was apprehended
might be omitted or altered in Order that the same might be laid
before the Court at an Adjournment day to be appointed for that
purpose.

By Adjournment same day

Resolved that Thomas Aris< no role > be permitted to serve the
Prisoners in the New Prison and House of Correction at Clerkenwell
with Bread until the County day of the next Session.

aforesaid on Friday the 10th. day of June 1791

Mr Rogers the County Surveyor Reported that he had
caused a Copy of the following Letter to be sent to several Paviors Vizt.

Sir

The Magistrates for the County of Middx. having come to
the Resolution of Contracting to Pave the Courts & Sheds on the Men &
Womens side in New Prison Clerkenwell with Purbeck Gunstone< no role > 4Inc.
thick no Stone to contain less than 3 Feet superficial to be laid with a
Square Joint in lieu of the present Purbeck Squares< no role > , which are to be
taken up & carried away at the Expence & to be the property of the
