That it is the Opinion of the Committee that the said Street ought
to be forthwith put into good and perfect Repair under the Inspection and
direction of Mr Rogers the County Surveyor and that no Money should be
Issued to the Contractor until Mr. Rogers shall Certify that the same is put into
a good and perfect state of Repair.
That Mr Staines the Contractor was Informed of the said Resolutions
and Agreed to put the same into Repair forthwith
That the Committee directed Mr Rogers the County Surveyor to
inspect the same.
All which the Committee Submit Etc
Resolved that it is the Opinion of this Court, that so much of the
Saint James's Haymarket
as is within the Jurisdiction of the Justices as
described in the Act of Parliament of the 8th. and 9th. of King William the Third
should be New Paved with Aberdeen Granate: and that it be referred to a
Committee to treat with Mr William Staines< no role >
the Contractor for keeping the
Carriage Way of the said Haymarket
in repair respecting his present Contract
with the Justices for Middlesex
and Westminster
and also to Advertize for
Proposals, and to Contract with the requisite Workmen for Paving the same
and to do all other matters and things in the Execution thereof as shall
