Middlesex

At the General Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden in and for the County of Middlesex at the Session
House for the said County (by Adjournment) on Thursday the
Ninth day of June in the Thirty First Year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord George the third King of Great Britain Etc

The following state of the Kitchen at the Session House for this
County and a Representation of several Articles wanting and Alterations
necessary was laid before the Court by Mr Hall the Housekeeper Vizt.

State of the Kitchen at the Session House and the necessity of fitting up
the same in a proper manner

That when the Session commenced to be holden at this place the
Kitchen was then only fited up in a temporary way principally of old
Materials brought from Hicks Hall all so Extremely old as renders them
any longer unfit for use the Wood of the Dressers and Table being so
much decayed that nothing can be choped on them without having in it
a Mixture of Wood - The Barrs of the Range are become so very small
by length of time that it is now a difficult task to roast any thing property
The Chimney frequently draws so very ill and smokes so very much that
the Servants are some times obliged to quit the Kitchen to prevent which a
Smoke Jack would greatly assist - A Flue has lately been made to draw
off any disagreeable Smell from the Stoves and Consequently wou'd have the
