September 1790

Expences, issued out a Warrant of Distress for the Wages and Expences,
and would have taken away an Eight day Clock out of her House if not
prevented by Mr Blackborow, hath in his Hands Two shillings which
Mrs. Miller paid to him to pay the Man his Wages which was not
paid unto him last Wednesday.

8thHath discharged Prisoners frequently without Fees and hath done
so since the Committee first set.

9thHath granted Supersedeases to three Persons for Five Offences and
hath not returned the Recognizances of either.

10thHath encouraged the Officers to oppress and distress Mr Blackborow's
Tenants and their Lodgers by laying Informations against them and
Imprisoning them unlawfully and taking them out of their Rooms and
Alehouses before Nine o Clock at Night.

11thThat he employed Persons to go into the Alehouses in the
adjoining Parishes to defeat the purpose of Privy Search Warrants.

12thThat he hath personated Mr Blackborow and enquired into the
Business they wanted if a Warrant or any other thing in the Justice's way
and when the Person saw Mr Blackborow's Name was not to it desired to
have the Money returned as they were recommended particularly to Mr.
Blackborow to do the business which he would not do, and said his Name
would do the same as Mr Blackborow's

13th.That John Small< no role > and John Williams< no role > were sent to Newgate by Mr
Friquet for trifling Offences which Cost one of them upwards of Thirty shillings
and one got out without Fees these Persons all required to have Bail and
were not permitted to send for it.

14thEast India< no role > Soldiers attested at Nine pence each and a Promise to
get a Licence for Fletcher and< no role > to protect Egerton who suffers Gaming in his
House: C. Friquet has had Six Wax Candles which were stolen out of a
Waggon delivered by Mr. Fidler to him, and a Vice was sent to his House
which had been taken from some Coiners.

15thGranted Supersedeases to be returned after they had answered the
purpose of protecting them from the Warrants issued out against them if they
would take out Cross Warrants against the same Parties
