Mr. Chairman Stated to the Court that he had received the following
Letter from the Society of People called Quakers Vizt. " Respected Friend
"Wm. Mainwaring< no role > Esqr . In order to explain with precision the intention of our
" late Application to thee We take the Liberty of stating that the Society of the
" People called Quakers in London not having yet determined on the suitable
" Place for the Antient part of their Family would willingly retain the Old
" House for a short time longer than their present Term which expires the 11th.
" day of next Month, if it be agreeable to the Justices of the County of Middlesex ,
" but as their New Building is now nearly completed, the remaining part of the
" £1600 for which they Sold the Premises will be wanted, at the time heretofore
" agreed upon, They therefore wish after the surrender of the said Premises
" and the Receipt of the £1200 to remain as Tenants mutually to quit at 3
" Months Notice - We are thy Friends Richd. Chester< no role > , Wilson Birkbeck< no role >
" London 8th Month 16th. 1786 - the favor of a Line addressed to Richard
" Chester Bush Lane Cannon Street will be acceptable." Resolved
that the Consideration of this matter be postponed until the 7th. day of
September next the adjournment day of this Session and that one or more of
the said Society be requested to attend at that time

Mr. Chairman informed the Court that he had seen Mr Boodle the
Agent of Lord Northampton relative to the Lease of the Ground in front
of the Sessions house, and that Mr Boodle informed him that Lord Northampton
being out of the Kingdom had prevented him getting the Lease executed but
that he should shortly send some Deeds over to his Lordship and that he should
send the Lease in question with others for the purpose of being executed by
him - but that if it was necessary to do any thing to the Ground in the
mean time that the Justices might proceed therein in the same Way as
if the Lease was executed.
